The Foundation is incorporated in the State of New Jersey and has IRS approval to function as a 501(c) (3) public charity with donations fully tax deductible. In addition to general donations, the foundation generates financial support through various fund raising events and activities.
The Foundation was established by family and friends of Gregg F. Clyne, who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer (adrenal cortical carcinoma) in July, 2002, fought it bravely, but lost the battle on August 3, 2006. Because Gregg was only 27 years when he passed away and had only just recently received degrees in both undergraduate and graduate work, he knew the importance of education. However, when he finally accepted his fate, he asked that we help others as a way of keeping alive what he believed in. What better way to honor Gregg…. a foundation that bears his name and gives to others. Gregg believed that success is begotten by hard work, and we will work hard to make Gregg’s foundation as successful as he was in his short life. We are committed to helping those less fortunate students who need assistance.
The Foundation was incorporated and launched in January 2008. In May 2008, before beginning general fundraising activities, we provided two students with financial awards who attended the University of Delaware (Gregg’s alma mater). Our commitment to give  awards has been enhanced and strengthened by donations after beginning fund raising activities in July 2008. During the first eight years, Gregg's foundation has awarded grants (up to four years) to 16 students. A complete list of students that have received awards can be found on the Grants Page (further information may be obtained upon request). Our Legal Page also contains additional details.
From this tragedy we have the opportunity to help young people realize their educational goals as a living tribute to Gregg. This Foundation will help to make a difference by building the groundwork for the future, where students of today become tomorrow’s leaders.
