"I am so thankful to the Clyne Family and the Board Members for selecting me as the recipient for the Gregg F. Clyne Memorial Foundation Scholarship. This scholarship has helped me and my family greatly to pay for my education to attend such a beautiful school. However, becoming a part of this scholarship is more than money, but also about family, friends and support. The Clynes are such a loving and caring family and have helped me cope with loss myself. And each year when we get together for a fun thoughful dinner to announce the new recipient, I have met some of the kindest most amazing people also attending the University of Delaware. After learning about Gregg, he has served as a role model to me to work hard in my classes and spread kindness everywhere and anywhere I go. I am certain that with the new recipient Erin, and with others to come, that the lessons I have learned from the Clynes and Gregg's memory will go on."

"This scholarship is more than just receiving money from an impersonal third party. It entails becoming a part of the family that The Gregg F. Clyne Memorial Foundation is responsible for creating and being able to act, work, and present oneself in a light which Gregg would have found acceptable and even admirable".

2010 Scholarship Award - University of Delaware, Fall 2010
"Without the Gregg F. Clyne Memorial Foundation, I'm not sure I would have had the finances to attend the University of Delaware. If it wasn't for the spirit of Gregg and the help and devotion from all of his loved ones, I may not be here at UD- the school that Gregg cared so much about. Through completion of my freshman year, I can truly see why Gregg loved this school as much as he did. It is an honor to be a part of this foundation and to carry on the memory of Gregg. "
Kaitlyn Williamson, Union Catholic High School, Scotch Plains, NJ

2008 Scholarship Award - University of Delaware, Fall 2008
"I have come to know and love the entire Clyne family. While I never met Gregg, I feel a connection to him from hearing the stories his family shares and just learning about what an amazing, strong person he was. The Gregg F. Clyne Memorial Foundation isn’t just a Foundation, it is a family. Family is something that is really close to my heart and the Clynes, Brittany and Kaitlyn have become like a second family. I am thankful every day for the opportunity this award gives me, but also for the memories that have and will be made."
2011 - "The Gregg F. Clyne Memorial Foundation is, and has always been, an added support and family for me as I continue on toward my college degree. As I walk the campus, I can't help but think of Gregg and sometimes that is the extra motivation I need to get through a particularly tough day. This upcoming year will be my senior year, and although my time remaining at Delaware is short, I know that the lessons I have learned and the connections I have made with the Clynes, Brittany, Emily, and Caroline will continue on long after I graduate." |
